1. Who we are
GNB Edge is operated by Group NB (groupnb.ca). This Privacy Policy covers GNB Edge on the web at recruitment.groupnb.com.ph and as the GNB Edge app on iOS and Android. GNB Edge includes a candidate portal for shift work (clock in/out, timesheets, payslips, and related tools) and is expanding job discovery / Job Bank features so candidates can find and apply for opportunities.
2. Account types
You may obtain a GNB Edge account in either of these ways:
- Self-registration — you create your own account through the public web and/or mobile sign-up flow.
- Recruiter or employer provisioning — an authorized recruiter, employer, or staffing agency may create login credentials for you when your profile already exists in their recruitment / ERP system and you do not yet have portal access.
3. Data we collect
- Account credentials — username, password, and related authentication details you set or that were issued for your account.
- Profile information — name, date of birth, gender, civil status, language, contact number, address, and email.
- Sensitive information — Social Insurance Number (SIN), where required for payroll and tax reporting when you are engaged for paid work through an employer or staffing agency on the platform.
- Resume / documents — a resume file or other documents you choose to upload.
- Job search and application data — where job discovery / Job Bank or application features are available to you: searches, saved jobs, applications, and related status information.
- Precise device location — captured only at the moment you clock in or clock out for a shift. GNB Edge never tracks your location in the background or between punches.
- Approximate (IP-based) location — used only as a fallback when your device cannot provide a precise location fix at clock-in/out.
- Verification photo — a selfie is required at each clock-in and clock-out to confirm the person punching the shift.
- Timesheet and payslip records — when applicable: punch times, shift assignments, and payroll history tied to your employment or staffing engagement.
- Technical and usage logs — device/app diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
4. How we use this data
- Creating and managing your account, including security and support.
- Job discovery and applications where those features are offered (for example matching you with openings and processing applications you submit).
- Verifying shift attendance and clock-in/clock-out events.
- Producing timesheets, payslips, and payroll records when you are on assignment.
- Administering employment or staffing engagements when applicable.
- Account security, including multi-factor authentication and audit logging.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. We work with:
- ipwho.is and ipapi.co — IP-address lookup services used only as a fallback to approximate your location when a precise device fix is unavailable at clock-in/out.
- OpenStreetMap tile server — used to display a map of a past punch location inside the app; no data about you is required to load a map tile.
- Twilio SendGrid — sends transactional emails (e.g. password resets, account notifications).
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data described above on our behalf.
- Authorized recruiters, employers, or staffing agencies who invite or employ you, to the extent needed to operate hiring, assignments, or payroll for your engagement.
6. Data retention
Clock-in photos and punch/timesheet/payroll records are retained as employment and payroll records for the period required by applicable employment and tax law. We do not currently run an automated purge job for these records; until one ships, retention is managed according to the same legal requirements. Other account and application data is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, unless you request deletion (subject to the retention rules above).
7. Your rights and account deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, whether you self-registered or received credentials from a recruiter or employer:
- In the GNB Edge app: Profile → Legal → Delete my account.
- By emailing itsupport@groupnb.ca from your registered address, subject "Account deletion request".
Deletion removes your portal access and personal profile data. Employment, timesheet, and payroll records that we are legally required to retain will be kept until the applicable retention period ends, then deleted. See our account deletion page for details and expected processing time.
If you are located in Canada, this policy is intended to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are located in the Philippines, this policy is intended to comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
8. Children's privacy
GNB Edge is intended for working-age candidates and employees only and is not directed at children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the version number below and, where required, prompt you to re-accept the policy in the app.
